[ANNOUNCEMENT] Behind the Curtain: Duplication Investigation Update

Dear Florensians,

It has now been a few days since we re-opened bank, personal shops and player trading after fixing the duplication exploit.

Since then, we have seen many questions, concerns and understandable frustration from players who are still waiting for an update regarding their account status. We know that waiting without clear information can feel stressful, especially if you believe you did nothing wrong. Today, we want to give you a clearer look behind the curtains.

First of all, we want to make one thing very clear: Normal trading is not something you need to be afraid of.

Buying an item from a personal shop or through a normal player trade does not automatically mean that you did something wrong - even if the item was cheaper than usual. Players are not expected to know the full history of every item they buy. Florensia is built around player interaction, trading and the market, and we do not want players to feel afraid of using these systems normally.

During our investigation, we found duplicated items and item movements connected to the exploit. Some accounts were directly involved in abusing the exploit. Other accounts received affected items, passed them further along, benefitted from them or appeared in item histories that require manual review.

This does not mean that every restricted account is automatically considered guilty.

There are important differences between:
  • accounts that directly abused the exploit;
  • accounts that knowingly profited from duplicated items;
  • accounts that helped move or distribute affected items;
  • accounts that received affected items without knowing their origin;
  • and accounts that only appeared in the logs because of normal gameplay or trading.

This is exactly why the review takes time.

We are not making decisions based on one normal trade, one shop purchase or one good market deal alone. Instead, we are reviewing the wider context shown in the logs, such as where affected items originally came from, how they moved between accounts, whether there were repeated connections to affected items and whether there are signs of intentional abuse.

A rushed decision would be unfair in both directions: It could allow duplicated items back into the game economy, or it could punish innocent, legitimate players who unknowingly traded with malicious actors. Because of that, we are reviewing item histories, trade connections and account activity carefully instead of relying only on automatic flags.

If your account was temporarily restricted as part of this investigation, it does not automatically mean that your account will be permanently banned.

Depending on the result of the review, possible outcomes may include:
  • the restriction being lifted if no intentional involvement is found;
  • affected duplicated items being removed or corrected;
  • further actions if an account knowingly profited from duplicated items;
  • stronger sanctions for direct exploit abuse or deliberate distribution.
We understand that this situation is frustrating, especially for players who feel they have been caught in something they were not part of. Please know that our goal is not to punish innocent players. Our goal is to separate normal gameplay from intentional abuse, protect the game's economy and treat each case as fairly as possible.

We also want to be transparent about the current support situation. Since the re-opening of trading, support has received a significant number of tickets and reports related to the aforementioned issues. Each affected account needs to be manually checked against logs, item histories and trade activity. Because of this, replies may take longer than usual.

If your account is affected and you believe this happened by mistake, please contact support with as much useful context as possible such as:
  • your account and character names;
  • approximate dates of relevant trades or shop purchases;
  • where the item came from, if you know it;
  • any additional information that may help us understand the situation.

Please avoid opening repeated tickets about the same case, as this does not speed up the review and can make it harder for support to keep the process clean and focused.
We will not share detailed exploit information, item numbers, trade routes, account names or investigation methods. Sharing these details could harm the investigation, help future abuse and damage the game's economy further.
Once again:
Normal trading, personal shop purchases and fair market activity are not ban reasons by themselves.

We know this situation has created uncertainty, and we are sorry for the stress this has caused. Thank you for your patience, your reports and your continued support while we continue working through the remaining cases.

Fair winds and following seas,
Your Florensia Team
